App stores are full of "Snapchat saver" apps with vague privacy policies. You don't need any of them. Safari and Chrome work fine.
iPhone & iPad
- Open Safari or Chrome
- Go to thesnapsaver.com
- Paste the public username
- Tap Download on any story
- Find the file in Files → Downloads
iOS tip If download doesn't start, disable pop-up blockers or long-press the Download button.
Android
- Open Chrome
- Go to thesnapsaver.com
- Enter the public username
- Tap Download
- Check Downloads or Gallery after media scan
Android tip Samsung and Xiaomi phones may route files through their own file manager first.
Why not install an app?
Browser tools need no device permissions, no APK sideloading, no Snapchat password. You download when you need to and close the tab when you're done.
Red flag
If any app asks for your Snapchat password to download videos, close it immediately.
